My name is Karen Mostert. I am a part-time Graphic Design lecturer at the Pearson Institute of Higher Education, and have worked here since 2008. I have a BTech in Graphic Design from NMMU, a BA in HSS (psychological counselling), and a PGD in Tertiary Education.. I plan to still complete a Masters in Education and eventually aim to get a PhD.
In April 2016 I opened my own Tattoo Studio and work as a tattoo artist. I spent two years before this working in other Tattoo shops and year before that doing an apprenticeship learning the trade.
I also work freelance as graphic designer and illustrator. My biggest client is PETS (Pet Empowerment in Townships).
I’m blessed to be married to a wonderful man who I met in 2007 while working in industry. Our wedding was in 2012 and we now have a gorgeous little girl, born in July 2016.
